Country house

A second home for two families, conceived as a reflection on the form of domestic space in relation to a shared and rural condition. A disused farmhouse on a ridge in the Monferrato region, located within an area protected by local landscape regulations, with open views over the surrounding landscape and the intent to trigger new spatial relationships between interior and exterior.

Without gutting the building, and through precise and surgical actions on the existing structure, the project is guided by a principle of economic and effort-based sustainability, resulting in different degrees of transformation for each area.

The interior design project is conceived to enhance the original features of the building and emphasize the typical materials with which it was constructed—creating spaces in which to embed one's own objects, furniture, and way of life.
