ANGOLO DI RELAZIONE
Design for a Corner Building
The project is located in a mixed and fragmented urban area, at the apex of a discontinuous urban block.
The area is interpreted as a pause among two office buildings, a potential piece in the redefinition of the site’s identity. Along the design process, the corner is void, acting as a connection between public and private spaces, allowing views beyond the building row and contributing to the enrichment of the urban landscape.
The building’s significant volume is shaped through recessed facades and shifts in direction. The internal layout is developed in relation to the different views and orientations; the services are organized in bands, allowing for cross-living spaces on the upper floors. The living areas are oriented toward the more open views, while the sleeping areas are aligned with the more private facades.
